About the NASW

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world, with 145,000 members. NASW works to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.

About the NASW-New Mexico Chapter

Our Statewide Chapter is dedicated to meeting the National Standards, as well as pursuing our mission of “Weaving the Social Work Profession together to serve our culturally diverse populations by embracing social justice and inspiring social change”.

The NASW Code of Ethics

All  NASW members are required to abide by the NASW Code of Ethics. If you believe a social work member of NASW is in violation of this Code of Ethics, one of your options is to file a complaint with NASW. You can learn how to approach that process by clicking here.

Additionally, you can view a copy of the NASW Code of Ethics in Spanish by clicking here.
